ABOUT THE ARTIST
Danica Nungaray is an artist from California exploring the process of making multiples in clay. Re-creating found objects in this way can make their ordinary context more remote and allow for exploration of personal and cultural perceptions about what is precious or useful.
Nungaray studied ceramics at Mills College and completed her B.A. in 2009. As a student she received the Elenor E. Crumb Award, the 2008 Mills College Artist of Color Award and participated in the Northern Italian Research Fellowship. Her works have been shown at The Lottie Rose House in Oakland, Arc Gallery in San Francisco, and have been included in Root Division’s MFA Never 2016 archive catalogue and the 2016 Mills College Art Auction.
